Accessibility

Last updated: July 24, 2026

The Grand Long Beach, operated by Choura Venue Services LLC, is committed to making our venue and this website accessible to the widest possible audience, including people with disabilities. Accessibility is part of how we welcome every guest, and we treat it as ongoing work rather than a one-time project.

Conformance status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA.

This website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. "Partially conformant" means that some parts of the content do not yet fully meet the accessibility standard. We assessed conformance through internal manual code review and automated testing, and we are actively remediating the gaps described below. A comprehensive third-party audit with assistive-technology testing has not yet been conducted.

Standards we work toward

We aim to meet or exceed the following standards across our digital experience:

  • WCAG 2.1 Level AA — the international standard published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).
  • Section 508 of the U.S. Rehabilitation Act, which references WCAG for information and communication technology.
  • ADA Title III, which treats places of public accommodation — and, increasingly, their digital services — as needing to be accessible.

What we've done

Accessibility measures currently in place on this website include:

  • Semantic HTML with landmark regions — header, navigation, main content, and footer — so assistive technology can move around each page.
  • A "skip to main content" link as the first focusable element, and a consistent, visible keyboard focus indicator across the site.
  • Descriptive alternative text for images, managed centrally and checked by automated tooling; decorative images are marked so screen readers can skip them.
  • Each page opens with a single first-level heading followed by a consistent heading hierarchy, and true list markup for structured content such as our FAQ and menus.
  • Navigation built from native buttons and links that is fully operable by keyboard, with the mobile menu button exposing its expanded or collapsed state and hiding its links from keyboard and screen-reader users while closed.
  • Disclosure controls such as the FAQ accordion expose their expanded or collapsed state to assistive technology, and collapsed content is hidden until it is opened.
  • Text, form placeholders, and error messages are styled to meet the WCAG AA contrast minimum of 4.5:1 against their background.
  • Respect for the operating-system "reduce motion" preference: animations, autoplaying video, parallax, and scrolling marquees are reduced or stopped when a visitor requests it.
  • Inquiry and contact forms built from native form controls, with each field's visible label programmatically associated to its input, required fields marked, invalid fields flagged, and validation messages announced to assistive technology.
  • A document language attribute, support for browser zoom and text resizing to at least 200% without loss of content, and no restriction on pinch-zoom.

Compatibility

This website is designed to be compatible with current versions of major browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge) and with commonly used assistive technologies, including:

  • Screen readers such as VoiceOver, NVDA, JAWS, and TalkBack.
  • Keyboard-only navigation.
  • Browser zoom and text resizing up to at least 200%.
  • Operating-system reduced-motion settings.

Known limitations

We hold ourselves to a high standard, and a few areas are still in progress:

  • We have not yet commissioned a comprehensive third-party audit that includes manual testing with assistive technology. Our current assessment is based on internal manual review and automated testing, so some issues that only surface with a screen reader or other assistive technology may remain.
  • Some highly stylized or decorative sections and any embedded third-party content are still being reviewed against every Level AA success criterion.
  • As we publish new pages and content, an issue can occasionally appear before our automated checks and manual reviews catch it. We monitor for these and fix them on an ongoing basis.

Accessibility at the venue

Beyond the website, The Grand Long Beach is committed to a welcoming, accessible in-person experience. Our facility complies with ADA requirements, including accessible parking, entrances, and restrooms. If you have specific accessibility needs for an event — mobility, seating, dietary, sensory, or otherwise — please let your event coordinator know during planning so we can prepare accommodations in advance.

Feedback and contact

We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of The Grand Long Beach. If you encounter a barrier, or need information on this site provided in a different format, please let us know and we will do our best to help:

  • By email: dan@grandfandb.com
  • By phone: (562) 426-0555
  • Through our contact page

We try to acknowledge accessibility feedback within 2 business days and to propose a resolution within 10 business days. When we cannot resolve an issue immediately, we will work with you to provide the information or service you need through an alternative method.
